WHERE EXACTLY ARE YOU LOCATED?
We're located along Moon River on the edge of Burnside Island, 20 minutes southeast of Savannah, GA. DIRECTIONS
DO YOU PROVIDE MEALS?
No, we currently do not. Our kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, silverware, etc.., however guests will need to provide their own food. We are happy to provide suggestions for local assistance if desired.
WHAT ABOUT SHEETS AND TOWELS?
Yes, we provide them for an additional cost in the Main House. To assist groups on a limited budget we allow those in the Main House to provide their own linens. However, for $15 extra per person we will provide made beds and a towel set (bath/hand/wash + bath mat) each. Linens are included in White and Brown Cottages.
HOW MANY CAN YOU SLEEP OVERNIGHT?
Up to 36 guests. The Main House sleeps 30, the White Cottage sleeps 4, and the Brown Cottage 2.
WHEN IS CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT?
For overnight retreats check-in is anytime after 3pm. Check-out is by 11am.
For a day retreat check-in is anytime after 8am. Check-out is by 10pm.
HOW MANY CAN THE MAIN HOUSE SEAT FOR A MEAL?
80 comfortably. The normal set-up for the Great-Room is 8 round tables with 6 chairs per table.
DO YOU HAVE WIFI OR A TELEVISION?
No. To help guests disengage from the usual rhythms of their busy, often over-stimulated lives, we do not provide WIFI or television. However, there is strong cell reception on the property for those needing to use their phone.
DO YOU EVER HOST RETREATS LEAD BY YOUR STAFF?
Currently we do not. (Though we'd love to in seasons ahead!) For now, our ministry is limited to providing a space for others to lead retreats. Please let us know if you would like to be contacted about retreats that are open to the public. For those who might be new to the idea of a personal retreat, or practicing solitude and silence, we're glad to help shape your time here. Please contact Abbie, our on-site spiritual director.
DO YOU ALLOW EVENTS OTHER THAN RETREATS?
Yes. Our facilities can also be rented for some other purposes such as eco-tourism, family reunions, picnics, art classes, etc. We even have a few rowing teams that use the property.
DO YOU ALLOW WEDDINGS?
We are no longer available for weddings or wedding receptions to the general pubic. We love marriage and weddings however, our ministry focus is to provide a restful, worshipful, healing environment for personal and group retreats.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION?
Up to 9 months prior to a reservation date.
WHATS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellation is allowed up to 30 days prior to a reservation without accruing a cancellation fee. Upon cancellation, any deposit will be returned.
DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARD?
Not yet. We hope to soon have a credit card payment option, however for now all payment is by check or cash.
DO YOU ALLOW ALCOHOL?
No. While enjoying the good gifts of God including beer and wine has its place, we ask guests not to bring alcohol onto the Retreat property.
DO YOU PROVIDE SHAMPOO AND BATH SOAP?
MAY I USE YOUR KAYAK?
Yes. We currently have 3 two-person and 1 solo kayak, along with lifejackets and oars. These are available for guests, so help yourself! Please see Micah for details and safety tips.
WHAT ABOUT A CAMP FIRE?
Yes. A fire-pit is available for guests next to the pavilion. Thanks to a wonderful group of volunteers, we provide chopped wood. Please contact Micah if you would like to make a fire.
MAY I BRING MY DOG?
Dogs on a leash are welcome outdoors during daylight hours. Pets are allowed indoors or on the property for overnights except ADA trained service animals.
DO I NEED TO PAY TO WALK THE TRAILS?
No. Whether a stroll through the woods, some reflective time on a bench, or simply enjoying sun on the dock, we welcome individual visitors and small groups (2-4 persons) to enjoy the property when larger retreats are not taking place. Please touch base with Micah before coming out.
IS THIS ONLY FOR FOLLOWERS OF JESUS?
No. While we are a Christian Retreat, we gladly welcome seekers of all faiths and backgrounds.
